A Quick Walk on Tired Legs

My idea for this weeks blog did not work out. I was given strict instructions by my running coach (aka husband) to stay off my feet and let my legs rest a bit. I have a super tight muscle that is giving me a hard time lately, nothing too serious. Since I couldn't really get out and about I just took a short walk yesterday staying close to home. Here is what I have to share.

Lunch at a nice French Bistro?

Walking to Cold Storage in Telok Ayer, this is looking down Club Street. I think I recently posted a similar photo from a different street. I love the shophouses, so pretty!

Chinese New Year is coming up soon. The coins are up in Chinatown.

Our condo is in the gold building on the left side of the photo.

This is a cool painting on the side of this building.

Foot reflexology and a corner for offerings.

Someone else trying to get a photo of the coins :)

I took this photo with my cell phone at the grocery store. I have never liked croutons anyway but $10.00? Are you kidding me? I find it ironic that these are sold at a grocery store named Fair Price. This must be the rip off section.

And this is my favorite photo of the week. Not for the quality, it isn't that good and here is why. I took the photo thinking that window washers were sort of interesting. The photo was taken from my balcony at home and these guys have been working across the street for a few days now. Window washing on high rises must be the scariest job ever! When I was editing my photos I noticed something looked odd about the basket the guys are in. I kept cropping to get a zoomed in shot. It looks like there is duct tape on the edges of the basket! If it isn't scary enough dangling a gazillion feet above the ground but to do it in a duct taped basket? oh boy. I'm sure that tape is just for some unimportant small fix, right? ugh. New basket please!!!!

Happy Friday

A look back at Germany.

Hello again! I apologize for not posting last week. The Tokyo Marathon is 1 month away and my legs are really feeling tired these days. This along with the typical Singapore weather of hot and super humid, its hard to get out there and take photos every week.  Maybe I should consider a blog name change? KK's every other Friday Photo Friday, KK's sometimes Friday sometimes not Photo Friday? How about KK's Singapore Blog with occasional posts and photos? Well, maybe I'll keep the name and just post when I can. I have a good idea for next week that just came to me this morning. Hopefully it works out and next Friday I can post new photos that maybe do not include so much walking around town.

This week I went over my photos from our trip to Germany last year. I need some photography inspiration so I thought it would be nice if I could have a few more of my photos printed and hung in our house. We currently do not have any of Germany hung so that is where I spent most of my time this week, going through my photos and trying to find one that is good enough to print. Here is what I found.

This statue on the post was in the middle of a fountain in the center of a square surrounded by restaurants and small hotels. We absolutely loved Germany.

Ludwig's castle in the distance. I don't think I'll print this one but it is really nice. The sun was a bit strong for the photo to come out clear.

Another castle that is pretty close to Ludwig's. This castle was much closer, walking distance. To see Ludwigs we had to take a scary bus ride up the side of a mountain.

Back to Ludwig's castle. After surviving the bus ride we walked the rest of the way up a hill to take a tour of the inside. Beautiful views along the way.

Part of the original town walls of Fussen.

Tiny white flowers.

Loving the rooftops and the round windows.

This is one of my favorite photos. Not sure if I'll print it though.

The Viktualienmarkt in Munich.

Munich Beer Garden. It was so nice to be there in June and to sit outside and have a sausage and a beer. It could get pretty crowded at times but still very nice.

A view from Ludwig's castle. I think this is my winner. I'll get this printed and hung next week.

Small street in Munich near Marionplatz.

Ludwig's castle. These photos are so out of order!!!

Sunlight filtering through trees in Fussen. This was part of the marathon route that my husband ran while we were in town.

Beautiful old houses on cobblestone streets in Fussen.

Chinatown and Downtown

A few shots from my walks around town this week.

Stopped to take a look down this street with the lamp posts and the older buildings as well as the tall modern buildings from downtown in the background.

This was my favorite alley photo of the day.

A close up of the sign. I'd like to blow this up and hang it in our entryway, like instead of the typical welcome mat :)

Some of the older refurbished shophouses with the HDBs and part of the city skyline.

Behind a temple, a mix of old and new.

Old shophouses converted into clubs. Wonder if it gets busy here at night?

Food street signage.

Happy Friday!!!
